;D 2007 come and gone. A personal view on the year. Intended tongue in cheek. biggest disappointment; jason Dozell. Nice bloke poor manager. Worst performance; Stanway. 1-5 and Nash up front Worst player; Joint Lionel Blair Hammond/ Gerrard Nash Most talented; Blake Saker Best display; 1st half at kirkley/ comeback at Haverhill[vase[ Best newcomer/ Player of year; Goldie Best hope for 2008; Carl as manager Biggest letdown; lee McGlone. Snubbing the fans & club who idolised him Wish for 2008; Long Vase run/continued improvement on and off field/ a quality goalscorer. One to look out for; Liam Hammond after his impressive debut v walsham. No seriously Danny Cunningham

agree with most of it tarzan but jason was a good coach if not a good manager, will we ever play the stylish football of last season again - dont think so. will we finish 5th again probably not. be interesting to see what happens in the summer regarding who stays and who goes. happy new year all.

I belive Lieston started playing football when the likes of Luke Hammomd, Danny Stanley, Blake Saker,Kevin Ingils, Stuart Boardley, Donny & Danny George, Lee McGlone, Chris Dennett, Stuart Roach, all joined the club. Now for me Jason was lucky to inherit most of those players but yes he gave them good coaching. Now surely you the fans cant tell me that without these kind of players thatyou are going to see the good flowing quality football that these players provided you with.
Now on the other hand what Carl will bring is a more hard working outfit when the side aint got the ball and i for one feel he deserves the chance to prove himself. Football is a funny old game and you need time and support to achive what the football club wants..... Players come and go as do Managers and i would like to wish everyone connected to the club a good 2008.........

;DAgreed, but most of them are unfortunately gone and as you say a different mentality has been adopted. Rather than well score more than you it is becoming more you will have to work harder to get one past us. Certainly not so easy on the eye but will it be more successful, well have to wait and see. Laurie you did a good job in establishing us thanks for that but times move on. We all wish you the best in whatever you do.

Tarzan, I agree with everything you have typed and i think what you have said was there to been seen at Ipswich Wanderers last night. yes Leiston have lost there way in playing attractive football but the side i see last night looked a more solid one defencively. I felt young Luke Eagle played very well. Judy worked his socks of as did the Manager. I did however feel that young Liam Jennings played very well for Wanderers at centre half. Anyway like you said times move on and it was nice to see a few faces last night. All the best Leiston and i will always have you the fans at heart....
Take care Glen Driver

it seems mr driver you want all the credit for how good Leiston have been mainly down to your good self. Fair enough you brought in Roach, Dennett, Inglis, Hammond and Boardley but the others were already there. Inglis and Hammond spent more time suspended than playing. Bottom line is we have won nothing but we now have a winner in charge and the whole club not team is changing. We have best keeper in lge, best centre half and best midfielders. Better training and more help coaching. The whole club is changing for the better. Lets leave the past where it should be, in the past and look forward

Not wanting to get involved in this little topic, I would just like to add that Glen, even though was not at club at the time, had a massive influence in getting all the mentioned players to Leiston before he ended up as Manager. All Managers we have had at Leiston (since entering Ridgeons) have all done great job here, and don't like to see none of them run down. So onwards and upwards with Carl.

Gobnutse you seem to talk as your name, I came on here to state that i thought leiston would push on and be more of a Solid slde defenecivly. Last night you looked like an avarage side. a side that looks like it will struggle to score goals. but will keep them out at the other end. Look at last night good finish by Gavin bad mistakes from there keeper for the other 2.And no i did not say that everything you have achived over the last couple of seasons was down to me never stated that once my old mate. You should read the message again i said that the team played alot of football because they were footballers what you have now is hard workers but not great footballers...... Was not putting Leiston down at all. Peoplelike you gobnutse just like to cause trouble...... I wonder if you have ever even played the game.I guess not

Thanks coops for the nice words mate, Its nice to see someone is talking sense. Without people like yourself coops things would of been alot harder for me at Leiston. You backed me and we still get on as mates. MOST of the fans at Leiston are different class. But people like gobsh1te just run down the people he doesn't like.
And by the way i have to agree with one thing you said Gobsh1te yes Carl is a winner and i hope he wins loads of silverwear for the Club. But dont you dare think for a minute that i aint a winner. Learn from my mistakes i will but one day people will see that i can manage and i will go to big things..... The reason why is because i to am a WINNER..........

leiston has quality players all over the park cant see what your talking about. The difference now is that the players will fight to the bitter end with current manager. Average players? Never, quality? Too true. Just look who we have lost. Stanley, better days behind him, Brothers, greedy and McGlone, who wanted to be closer to home. Carl has brought in Cunningham, Chenery, Crane all class and more to come no doubt. He has brought in more coaches and has an interest in all teams. We really do have a bright future NOW

Time will tell gobbsh1te, time will tell. But remember i have not slatted the football club off just stated facts.... and sarah444 thats a little hars to say players who heve left only played for the money..... shocking statement... but again everyone will have a different view, so i will keep all of mine to myself..... but at last a few posts on the website i knew i was good for something. haha

i find it difficult to comprehend how you can call our players average. Stannard is best keeper in league, Goldfinch and Saker best defenders. Manning, Lowe and Cunningham best midfielders and all these players would walk into any side. Our remaining players, are also quality players and not the average you make out. Just face facts, the club is now better placed on and off the pitch than it ever has been and thats down to the current squad and management
